About the Class

Please note starting April 1, 2022, the Lighting section will cover 28% of the CPP Exam. Approved Certification Instructor, Steve Kozak takes you through a portion of the test specifications for the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) exam. In this video you will focus on Lighting, Section F. This video will help you learn to determine the appropriate lighting usage (main, fill, etc.) for subject(s). Steve will also cover;

  • Knowledge and placement of main/key, fill, background, accent lights to achieve desired effects (control shadows, create depth, enhance subject matter)
  • Knowledge of techniques for controlling/utilizing light (natural light, window, outdoor, studio, mixed, incandescent, florescent, painting with light)
  • Knowledge of backlighting for producing desired effects
  • Knowledge of lighting products (reflective, transparent, translucent, opaque)
  • Knowledge of using flash fill techniques (indoor and outdoor; Sunny 16 rule)
  • Knowledge of on-camera and off-camera flash techniques (TTL, manual) - (as of April 1, 2022, highspeed sync questions will be added to the exam)
