Parker Pfister Cr.Photog.

Parker Pfister gives a tour of his beautiful studio in downtown Asheville, NC. Parker talks about his progression as a photographer and why he has been focusing on large format imagery. He shows off his antique lenses, including one that is technically radioactive and why he enjoys the look of older lenses. Parker talks about his inspirational sources and how taking on a collaborator has enhanced his work after years of going solo.

Parker Pfister Bio

While other kids dreamed of being firefighters and cowboys, Parker dreamed of being a National Geographic photographer. He started his journey into the art of photography at age six when his grandmother gave him his first camera. Eight years later Eastman Kodak honored him with a silver medallion for second place at the 1982 World's Fair.

He's had a camera in his hands ever since, photographing anything that interests or moves him. Last year he was named one of the "Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World" by American Photo. He was on the cover of NikonWorld magazine, was seen on the BBC's Style Network, and his work was featured on Keeping up with the Kardashians, Entertainment Tonight and The Food Network, but says his biggest reward of the year was playing with his son, Scout.
