Maria Bernal

Maria began photographing at the ripe old age of 7. At age 8, she was already developing her own film. She shoots both film and digital today and still enjoys every moment of every session!

Raised in France among traditional art and fashion, Maria's photographic identity solidified. She is a portrait artist, and that is what she loves to do. Coming from the world of fashion, Maria incorporates a little bit of that into every portrait that she does, and she's well-known for her lighting and retouching techniques. One of her images even graced a 2012 cover of Professional Photographer magazine, highlighting how she incorporates fashion into her senior photography.

Maria is one of only 20 Profoto Portrait Masters, a Westcott Top Pro, and holds the Photographic Craftsman degree from PPA. She has won Best Portrait at SWPPA several years in a row, multiple first-place portrait awards at state and international levels, and has several portraits in PPA's Loan Collection. Maria also has been speaking around the country for several years.
