Lauren Mihae
Lauren Mihae Photography is a small business built on the foundation that we are all humans with a story, and we all deserve to be seen and heard.
Lauren Mihae is a destination wedding + elopement photographer based in the Pacific Northwest. Her love for photography dates back to when she was 4, snapping photos of her mom with an old Canon point-and-shoot film camera. An avid traveler and sometimes outdoorsy gal, she started off mostly photographing landscapes, drawn to the earth's natural curves, shapes, and colors. She is constantly inspired by the juxtaposition of lighting and effective composition. As an au pair, as a couch surfer, as a solo female traveler, she met other travelers and locals who would share stories about their lives – and in these moments of pure vulnerability, she fell in love with the idea of strangers becoming connected, even if just for a moment in time. She is that person who cries with the stranger sitting next to them on the airplane as they share the deepest part of their souls and current struggles and hugs goodbye at landing. Lauren eventually found she could combine her love of nature and human connection through wedding photography. No matter what or who she's photographing, the goal has always been to listen + observe – how a couple interacts, what their love languages are, the little things they do, how they fell in love, everything they want to share about their story, and how best to document it in the most authentic, genuine way.
