2021: A Year in Review

We here at PPA recently took a moment to step back and reflect on everything our community has experienced in the last year. Despite all the unexpected challenges, our association remained committed to helping photographers like you. In fact, we believe in that mission now more than ever!

In 2021, the photographic industry began its comeback amid the global pandemic. And PPA's community of photographers grew stronger than ever. The year kicked off with a virtual version of Imaging USA, drawing thousands of photographers for 3 days of education and inspiration.

  • 10,000+ attendees

Members counted on us to bring them the latest educational content to help them build more profitable businesses.

And Professional Photographer magazine continued its legacy of excellence.

  • Winner of 3 Folio Awards
  • 1,000+ pages of tips and inspiration
  • 110 years of archived issues

We helped members protect their businesses through an improved equipment insurance policy and the Indemnification Trust.

A record number of members became Certified Professional Photographers and declared their candidacy.

  • 670 Members Declared Candidacy

The International Photographic Competition received submissions from around the globe.

  • 4,026 Critiques
  • 13 Participating Countries

And we continued our efforts on Capitol Hill to support photographers and small business owners.

It all culminated with PPA receiving the International Photography Museum and Hall of Fame's prestigious Leadership Award.
