This class will explain and demonstrate studio and outdoor portrait lighting techniques. You will start with a overview of studio lighting using main, fill, hair and background lights. This will be used as a basis to explore other basic and intermediate lighting setups and the use of various lighting equipment - one light and multiple lights, window light, reflectors, off camera flash and how to find beautiful light outdoors. An emphasis will be placed on making the most of the equipment you already own. We will explore purposefully lighting that is appropriate for the subjects using models to apply what we have learned. The day will finish with processing techniques to enhance and correct the lighting in the images as well as to add visual emphasis to the subject. This interactive class is designed to expand the lighting skills of the budding to the intermediate photographer but will benefit photographers of every level.
