Team Spain Claims Victory at World Photographic Cup!

Team Spain emerged victorious at this year’s World Photographic Cup (WPC), held this year in Dallas, Texas. Team USA claimed second place, while Team Canada took home the third-place trophy.

 

The Top 10 teams’ rankings were as follows: Finland came in fourth place, followed by Portugal in fifth, Sweden in sixth, Australia in seventh, United Kingdom in eighth, Philippines in ninth, and New Zealand in tenth.

 

In 2024, two new categories were introduced, which means that 10 categories in total were judged and awarded. Gold medals were awarded to the following photographers: 
 

  • Tim Wallace from the United Kingdom in the Commercial Category
  • André Boto from Portugal in the Illustrative/Digital Art category
  • Francisco Negroni from Chile in the Nature/Landscape category
  • Jacquie Matachuk from Canada in the Nature/Wildlife category
  • Erich Caparas from the Philippines in the Portrait/Natural category
  • Craig Minielly from Canada in the Reportage/Photojournalism category
  • Jonathan Näckstrand from Sweden in the Sports category 
  • Wei Wang from China in the Wedding Open category
  • Zuzana Fajimonova from the Czech Republic in the Wedding Photojournalistic category 


The WPC Governing Committee also extends their congratulations to all 30 medalists from 14 different nations as well as the 70 remaining finalists and 31 Best of Nation awarded photographers. The standard of entries from teams around the world continues to impress, and the WPC is the only Olympics-style event for photography. The WPC truly showcases the finest photography from around the world, and winning photographers can lay claim to having created some of the best images ever captured, with the competition providing them with a remarkable platform to showcase their work.
