CPP Spotlight: Pooja Ahuja

Pooja Ahuja, CPP, is a photographer from San Ramon, California. She’s been a member of PPA since 2019. As the owner Pooja Photography, she specializes in everything from maternity and newborn photography to headshots, portraits, and pets.

We asked Pooja to tell us about her experience of becoming a Certified Professional Photographer and what PPA members can expect out of the process. If you’ve ever wanted a firsthand account of what the CPP process entails and what the benefits of being certified are, keep reading!

I decided to pursue certification because I am a big believer in making your tribe. Your family loves and supports you and will give you the perfect ego boost you need, but your tribe will help you grow as an artist and as a businessperson. They will have your back and give you the honest feedback you need.

For me, this same tribe and Imaging USA played a big part in taking the first step towards my CPP. When you are surrounded by art and the awarded portraits, it only makes you strive harder and get better at being the artist you want to be. I knew CPP would help fill in the missing pieces that would push my work to the next level. In fact, the CPP process gave me the confidence to educate my clients on why they need to invest in a professional.

I would tell another photographer who is on the fence about getting certified that it is definitely worth it... and so much more.
