Congrats to WPC Team USA Member… Lisa Hill!

Are you ready for the World Photographic Cup?! This May, 30 countries are competing in the highly-anticipated international event co-founded by PPA, the World Photographic Cup. The national teams, including two-time winner Team USA, will be vying to take the cup from two-time, reigning champ Portugal. This year's list of registered countries spans from the U.S. to Pakistan, Singapore to Spain. For all things WPC including galleries of competing images, visit WorldPhotographicCup.org.

Today we'd like to shine the spotlight on a Team USA member and creator of the above image in the Commercial category: Lisa M. Hill, CPP.

Lisa Hill is an award-winning professional photographer with a life-long love for photography. As a young girl with her first camera, she spent endless hours capturing everything that crossed her path. She was inspired by her aunt, an accomplished professional photographer, to start her portrait business in 2007.

With degrees in child development and sports management, Lisa is a true Renaissance woman. Her experiences working with children, parents, and athletes gives her a special talent for connecting with her subjects when she’s behind the camera.

When Lisa’s not behind the camera, she’s teaching others how to see the world through the magic of a lens. One of her favorite quotes is from Elliott Erwitt: “To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

Lisa lives in Atlanta, GA, with her husband, Todd, and their two teenage daughters.  She’s an active community volunteer, contributes time to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, cheers her kids from the sidelines, and dreams of being at the beach.

As a member of Professional Photographers of America, she’s continually searching for new and creative ways to develop her talents in the fast-changing industry. In 2013, after years of study and practice, she earned her professional certification and is currently working to complete a Master of Photography degree.

CONGRATULATIONS, LISA HILL! WE'RE SO PROUD OF YOU & THE REST OF TEAM USA!

The winner of the World Photographic Cup will be announced at the WPC Awards Ceremony at Sea World, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, on May 5, 2018. For more information on the World Photographic Cup, and to view the finalist images from around the world, visit WorldPhotographicCup.org.
