5 Ways To Show Gratitude This Fall

Professional photographers are busy people. Between honing your craft and building your business, you might not always have a lot of time to sit back and reflect upon all the accomplishments you've already made. And while professional achievements are important, the biggest accomplishments in our lives are without a doubt the relationships we have with our loved ones.

How do you show the people in your life you're grateful for them? A gift is nice, but there are plenty of other ways that you can brighten someone's day and improve your own mindset without spending a penny. Keep reading for 5 ways you can cultivate a positive outlook through gracious actions, as presented by past Imaging USA keynote, Jim Quick:

 

1. Keep a gratitude journal.

Each morning and night, write down three things you’re thankful for. 

2. Tell someone you appreciate them

Write a thank-you note or start a conversation by expressing thanks. 
 
3. Think of one thing you like about yourself.

Pick a daily behavior, like brushing your teeth, as the time to remind yourself to be thankful for one of your best traits. 

 

4. Practice mindfulness.

Spend time in nature without your digital devices. 

 

5. Reduce judgment.

Halt your inner critic and flip your perception to the positive. 

 

Practicing gratitude daily can improve your physical health, mental strength, energy level, sleep, and self-esteem. Plus, it helps you to better serve your clients and manage your business. So, take some time this season to reflect on what you are thankful for and who in your life you appreciate… and let them know!
