Urban Storytelling: Crafting Visual Narratives in the City
Urban Storytelling: Crafting Visual Narratives in the City

About This Workshop

Join us in downtown Springfield, MA, for an immersive photography workshop focused on visual storytelling in urban environments. Through the lens of the city’s rich architectural landscape—where historic buildings meet modern development—you’ll explore how to build a narrative using light, form, and atmosphere. The workshop begins with a collaborative idea exchange and brainstorming session where each participant defines the story they want to tell. From there, you’ll head out to capture your vision through a curated series of 7–10 images, working individually or in small groups. We’ll reconvene over an early dinner to discuss progress and insights before heading back out for golden hour and twilight shooting. This dynamic schedule provides access to a full spectrum of natural light, from day to night. Whether your focus is on architectural details, street scenes, or human interaction with space, this workshop encourages personal exploration and creative growth. Afterward, participants are encouraged to edit and share their curated image series for continued feedback and community connection.
