About This Event

Editing is an important part of a photographer’s workflow. These skills are needed to fix technical flaws, enhance visual creation, and add a polished look to images. Editing corrects real-world issues such as weird color casts from lighting, lens distortion, underexposed shadows, or blown-out highlights. It allows photographers to transform a plain snapshot into an emotional piece of art.

Our speaker, Kristy Steeves, has honed her editing skills over the years while earning the Master of Photography, Master Artist, and Master of Wedding Photography degrees through Professional Photographers of America. She will share the knowledge she has gained during an all-day, PPA merited, editing extravaganza!

In this program, Kristy will show you how to use various Photoshop tools to enhance your images. You will work with the Layers Panel – the heart of Photoshop; stacks, groups, blending modes, and non-destructive editing.

You will become versed with Adjustment layers – applying color, brightness, contrast, and tone changes. You will work with the Quick Selection brush, the Lasso Tool, and Remove Tool, plus much more. Kristy will provide images so everyone can participate with hands-on editing during the demonstration. You will need to come prepared by having the latest version of Photoshop already set up on your laptop.
