Bookkeeping and Accounting for the Photographer
Bookkeeping and Accounting for the Photographer

About This Event

Let’s talk about what overwhelms you…. Bookkeeping and Accounting - We will spend the day talking about business expenses and what is a deductible expense and what might NOT be deductible. We will discuss how to allocate your expenses and which category they belong in. We will also discuss what might be considered income that you are currently not claiming. We will look at different ways to track your income and expenses, and where to start; why it is important to do your bookkeeping on a regular and timely basis, and how to use this information. We will try to answer questions like – “Should I hire a tax preparer” – “Do I need to hire a bookkeeper” – “Do I need and attorney” – “Do I need a software accounting system or will an excel worksheet work for me” ….We will also discuss the dreaded issue of taxes – both – State and Federal… and what might trigger an audit. We will also touch on whether you should set up an LLC, S Corp, C Corp, or just be a Sole Proprietor. The goal is to demystify the tracking of your income and expenses and take the fear out of filing taxes. Each attendee will receive an Excel worksheet for basic bookkeeping, a list of basic income and deductions categories, and an Excel worksheet that can be customized for invoicing.
