Kira Derryberry

M.Photog.Cr., CPP

Photography didn't just find Kira Derryberry – rather, she found it through a rather long, circuitous process that spanned years. She spent her younger years geeking out, designing some of 1996's most important websites. As the go-to tech support person for family and friends, she decided to do it for real – and get paid. However, helping people fix their floppy disk problems at 11pm wasn't the life Kira envisioned so she went back to school and there she found photography and digital art, interspersed with the web design. In 2010, Kira opened her own studio and has never looked back. In 2013 and 2014, she showed what she could really do as a photographer and was voted Best of Tallahassee by Tallahassee Magazine readers. She also shared the title of Tallahassee Photographer of the Year. She's a two-time IPC Silver Medalist, serves as President of the Tallahassee Professional Photographers Guild and as Councilor for PPA. She is a wife, a mother and a phenomenal photographer – and it all started with a little HTML and a computer screen!
