For the first time in World Photographic Cup (WPC) history, Team Spain clinched the cup. The announcement was made in April at a ceremony in Dallas, Texas. Team USA placed second in the 2024 Cup, while Team Canada placed third. This year, 31 international teams competed in 10 categories: commercial, illustrative/digital art, nature/landscape, nature/wildlife, portrait/natural, portrait/illustrative, reportage/photojournalism, sports, wedding open, and wedding photojournalistic.

WPC was founded in 2013 and is modeled after the Olympics. Teams may enter up to three images by three different photographers in each of the 10 categories, which are then reviewed by a panel of international judges. The top three photographers in each category are awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals. Teams are awarded points based on placement within the top 10 of each category, and the country’s team with the most points wins the cup. The 2023 World Photographic Cup was held in Singapore, and the 2025 event will be in Quito, Ecuador.
