Niki Butcher has been making photographic art for over four decades. She captures photos in black-and-white then hand paints them in serene hues to add a layer of whimsy and imagination to the compositions. Butcher, whose husband is well-known landscape photographer Clyde Butcher, aims to deliver a message of conversation in her art.
“I hope that through these images, people will be inspired to see the beauty in the world around them and take action to preserve it for future generations,” she says. One hundred and forty of Butcher’s images are published in her first photo book, “Daydreaming,” which she self-published.
