Photo gallery: Thomas Dodd’s fine art photography

© Thomas DoddThomas Dodd's fine art photography concepts are often drawn from centuries-old myths and legends, "a well that never runs dry," he says. "It's like having a blueprint for creativity that you can then put your own spin on." After developing a concept, selecting models and a wardrobe, making the portraits, and painting them in Photoshop, Dodd takes his art a step further by painting each print using acrylics and venetian plaster. This final step individualizes each work, making it more valuable to collectors and palatable to art galleries.Dodd will be sharing some of his fine art photography techniques during his Imaging USA 2018 session "The Painterly Photo." RELATED: Read more about Dodd's fine art photography business and his tips for getting your work noticed by galleries.
