Forever Ansel

Some of Ansel Adams’ most recognizable black-and-white photographs are now available to purchase as U.S. stamps. In May, the United States Postal Service announced it would be issuing Ansel Adams stamps featuring 16 of his iconic images in one pane.

The stamps honor Adams as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, highlighting his ability to capture both the reality and the awe of America’s most iconic natural settings. The selected photos showcase the diverse landscapes of the American West. An unveiling ceremony for the stamps took place at Yosemite National Park on May 15.
