Beauty, art, emotion, love, sorrow, solitude, joy: these are all reasons I became a photographer! There is something deep inside me that MUST show the world the beauty of a human being. My proudest moment was capturing the emotional connection between a Vietnam veteran and the shelter dog he saved.
PPA has made me a better technical photographer, motivated me to try new things, and inspired me to go beyond my comfort zone, including working towards my CPP designation.
There were two things that prompted me to become a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP). I wanted to make sure my education was complete, and I wanted to compete in the International Photographic Competition and gauge my talents against other photographers. Becoming a CPP has certainly increased my confidence in my skill set, and my clients are impressed by the certification. I have heard so many photographers say that the certification doesn't impress their clients, but I am finding the exact opposite.
I think becoming CPP is totally worth it; it enhances your skillset, it opens up a wide range of education opportunities, and you get to be in the ginormous CPP club where there is a camaraderie amongst the photographers. I also think that earning a CPP garners more respect from your fellow photographers.
