This course is an introduction to the basic foundations for light painting and includes a variety of light painting skills that can be used for creative and artistic designs or that can be used for capturing unique lighting techniques for commercial photography.
Information and demonstrations will be presented on how to make some of the equipment and items used to paint with light. Equipment, flashlights, props, and background materials will be provided by the instructor, but students may bring their own adjustable beam flashlights and
background materials if they choose.
A wide variety of light sources will be introduced as light painting tools. The class will be creating spirographs, light spheres, light writing, using light wands for creative designs, creating light spirals as well as other creative light painting skills. The class will also combine light painting skills with rear curtain sync flash to photograph a person in the light painted image.
