Have you been unhappy with the way your printed images look? Perhaps your images look amazing on your screen but when you send them to that awesome pro lab, they came back dark? Or they looked soft? Or, they looked... green? Or, maybe sometimes they look terrific and sometimes they look terrible.
If you are having problems making your digital images consistently look fantastic in print, this course is for you. PRINT YOUR WORK will walk you through everything you need to know to get your digital images from 'eck' to excellent!
This course will cover:
- Camera settings (what color space are you shooting in?)
- Color spaces to edit in (Prophoto, Adobe RGB, sRGB, etc.): the where, why and when!
- How to calibrate your monitor and with what tools
- What is an ICC profile?
- How to soft proof a print
- What it means when someone says "a color is out of gamut" and other cool geeky phrases and what to DO about it!
- How to sharpen for print
- Sizing and resizing for print
- What papers are best for what types of images or styles of photography
- And so much more. It's kind of overwhelming but it won't be when we're done. Promise. And, most importantly, you'll know how to confidently work with a pro lab to get the most out of your images and make them look amazing.
Bonus: We'll do some hand-printing in the studio, too! There's nothing like seeing an image on the
monitor roll off a printer and see how it looks on different papers and how different tweaks affect the same image.
