Beyond the basics of landscape photography, there is an internal process that sets apart art from
fine art. Learn how to use left and right brain mindsets simultaneously, balancing "being in the moment" and having an artistic mindset, with camera readiness and technique. Too often, photographers get stuck in a rut doing what they are "supposed to do" or "taught to
do." But to break free from the mold, and still make quality images that are intriguing and reflect who you are, takes preparation. You will learn how your internal process is equally important to your art as the technical aspect of your photography.
Class starts with a guided silence to focus and visualize internally on your intentions before
shooting. We will then move on to camera and equipment readiness for variable light situations in nature to ensure you can be an artist now, in the moment when it arises. During shooting, individual time will be spent with each student to help advance your artistic process and reinforce
your intentions of the day. For those who need it, we can focus on technical preparation in camera for post processing, focus stacking, and HDR. If you need help with basic settings (Shutter speed, ISO, aperture) I can work with you. The goal at the end of the day is that you gain a greater understanding of your internal process, thereby outwardly expressing yourself through photography in a more complete way. The art of landscape photography starts inside of you, not when you're looking at the perfect sunset.
