While bookkeeping and accounting may be considered a dry and boring subject matter it is important for all business owners to have at the least a basic understanding of this subject. In this course, we will explore the basic bookkeeping and accounting principles for the photographer. We will also discuss Texas sales tax for photographers and artists. We will review different ways to keep track of your income and expenses and the importance of record-keeping on a regular basis and not waiting till the end of the year. We will examine the differences between an employee and contract labor and how to categorize and allocate different expenses. We will also discuss in-home studios and offices just to name a few of the areas to be addressed.
