This workshop will be "focused" on seeing the "where" to photograph people without using flash photography. Once the location is picked, the proper placement of the subject/s will be determined, and the appropriate camera settings will be applied. Two Master photographers will be coaching throughout the day for a fun and fact-filled experience. This workshop will be useful for all experience-level photographers. Our workshop will be walking around town spotting the nooks and crannies and the lights and the shadows that are all part of making a good image. No matter what camera you are using, it may be your cell phone or a pro model digital or DSLR, the light and the placement can make the difference in getting a good image. We will tell you what to look for when finding the right spot for the image. Once a "photo-op" spot is picked, the next consideration is the composition of the subject/s in the image. We will show you how to get the proper exposure, the camera settings, and the why so you can take away those tools to use in your everyday image-making. Since we will not be using flash photography, that doesn't mean we won't be controlling the light. The light may be controlled by placing the subject behind, beside, underneath, in front of, or back of surroundings that either block or reflect light on the subject. This is not to say we won't be using "tools" to control our light. Sometimes it may be necessary or just desirable to use a reflector to add light or a scrim to block light. Those tools will be provided and available to use in our workshop.
