Welcome to the world of photography lighting! In this workshop, we'll dive into the fascinating realm of light, exploring both natural and studio lighting techniques. If you find this topic a bit overwhelming, don't worry – we'll break it down into smaller, understandable parts.Throughout the day, we'll delve into how light can be modified and manipulated using different tools to create stunning effects in photographs. We'll also explore lighting patterns, understanding how they can impact the mood and story within an image. We'll discuss complex concepts like the inverse square law, which helps us understand how light behaves at different distances. But don't feel pressured to know it all at once; we'll take it step by step. Remember, this workshop is a safe haven for experimentation and learning. Mistakes are not only welcome but encouraged, as they pave the path to mastery. By the end, you'll feel more confident and skilled in using light to craft compelling photographs. Lighting 101 is geared toward those at the very beginning of their lighting journey. We'll go over all of the various elements (modifiers, lighting patterns, triggers, etc) as if you've never heard of them before. We'll have no-host lunch at the local restaurant Salsas midday (subject to change).
