This workshop is all about the wildlife. We will cover equipment, safety, ethics, composition, behavior, exposure, how to find your subject, and the artistry of wildlife photography. You will learn how to be in the right place at the right time with the right tools to capture images that stand out in the crowd. We will begin in the morning discussing concepts, techniques, and equipment. We will break for lunch and return for more lecture/Q&A before proceeding into the ‘field’ for hands-on learning, ending at dark. Our location will allow you access to photograph some of the largest mammals in North America, the Eastern Elk. September is rut season so we will have the opportunity to see some real battles among the bull Elk while courting the ladies. We will be in an area rich with wildlife so additional photo opportunities may present themselves which is yet another exciting aspect of wildlife and nature photography.
Course Items:THINGS TO BRING: Note-taking materials. Bring your camera, a wide lens for environmental wildlife imagery and a long lens if you have one. I carry a 24-70mm and a 150-600mm for the long shots. You may consider renting a long lens or adding a teleconverter, money for lunch
