Modern cameras have made "run and gun" photography easy and fun. However, dramatic lighting for portraits or weddings "on the fly" takes more than an awesome camera and fantastic speedlight. Off-camera flash adds sparkle to your subjects and drama to your finished portraits. Bring your camera, two speedlights that can be synced to work together, and a tripod, and we'll explore the wonders of off-camera flash. Learn ways to use off-camera flash to add sparkle to your subject's eyes without an artificial look in the finished portrait. And learn ways to add drama to your finished work with a bolder use of off-camera flash as the Main Light for your portraits. The first part of class will be indoors in the camera room with a demonstration and description of the classic studio lighting. Next you'll fire up your own camera and speedlights to mimic the studio lighting. We'll venture outdoors to put your newfound knowledge into action in the real world. And we'll finish the day with time on the computer to learn some interesting ways to tweak our images for impact.
Course Items:Camera with lens ranges from wide-angle through telephoto. A tripod. At least two speedlights that can be remotely synced to work together. Instructor can provide a couple of sets of speedlights to Canon users for this class, if needed. A laptop computer, money for lunch
