This workshop is for those who have no studio experience, who might be considering studio work, and who want a relaxed environment to learn about lighting subjects for a small studio or location space. This is your opportunity to play around with different types of lighting strategies and finding out what gear you might consider. It will be a combination of demo and hands-on practice using strobe lights and different modifiers to see the different effects they produce. You will have the opportunity to practice arranging lighting equipment and posing a subject. Topics covered will include types of lighting equipment, basic lighting patterns, lighting with one and multiple lights, types of lighting modifiers, backgrounds, how to use a light meter and remote triggers, lens choice, and a few basic posing strategies. Make head shots of your fellow class attendees. You might even learn a few money-saving hacks!
