Tina L. Caron, CPP
You have just finished a great portrait session, and you know you have some killer images. Now it’s time to head to your computer for post-processing. Do you ever find that your processed portraits lack the polished look you are striving for? Are you overwhelmed by the multitude of online tutorials with often complex and time consuming methods to address common portrait problems? This course will take you through my portrait retouching workflow from import to export, demonstrating techniques for organizing and culling your sessions and developing your own consistent workflow using Adobe Lightroom, Bridge, and Photoshop. The class will retouch headshots, family portraits, maternity, and newborn subjects. You will learn and practice techniques for brightening skin, blending and correcting skin tones using frequency separation, taming stray hair, removing blemishes, managing highlights and shadows for maximum impact, natural retouching for eyes, and so much more. The retouching techniques will be completed in Photoshop, therefore students must have a working understanding of Photoshop, including the concepts of layers and masks. Use of Adobe Lightroom is not required; workflow options leveraging either Lightroom or Bridge and Camera Raw will be explored.
Items to bring: Laptop computer, Adobe Photoshop CC 2020, Adobe Bridge 2020, Adobe Lightroom Classic (optional), samples of your own work if you wish to practice on your own images (course images will be provided).
