Let's add infrared photography to your creativity tool box using infrared-modified or non-modified cameras! You will explore how record infrared light that is outside of the visible spectrum, when and where to use infrared photography to capture foliage and add interest to landscapes, and why infrared can be used to enhance portrait photography. We will talk about the options of modifying a camera to capture infrared light, where to have a camera modified, and how to use infrared filters on non-modified cameras. The consideration of how exposure, focusing, white balance, time of day and post-processing are applied differently to infrared photography and visible light photography will give you creative tools for your infrared images. In addition, we will touch on the use of long exposure with Infrared and Neutral Density filters. Bring your camera, as we plan to take the creative process outdoors to capture and process some infrared images in the afternoon.
Items to bring: Bring your camera, tripod, something to take notes with and money for lunch.
OPTIONAL: If you have infrared and/or neutral density filters and filter holders, please bring them.
