Kate J Mitchem, Elizabeth A. Bailey
Sorry, this event has reached full capacity. Please contact the instructor if you have any questions.
Kate Mitchem and Elizabeth Bailey are teaming up to create an inspiring educational experience for intermediate photographers. This class will focus primarily on lighting; both studio and outdoor natural light. Live models will be present to shoot through out the day.
Elizabeth Bailey has her Fellow of Photography through the VPPA and is working to earn her PPA Master's degree. She will be teaching how she uses various studio lighting techniques to flatter her clients. Elizabeth has earned multiple IPC merits every year for the past three years with her studio lit images. Composition, posing, color, style and techniques will be addressed in her portion of the class.
Kate Mitchem has been featured in both PPA and Shutter publications. She will show how she uses natural light to create beautiful outdoor portraits. Her naturally lit images have amazed her clients and earned her IPC merits. She will cover how to shoot in difficult light, using sunlight to properly back-light your subject as well as getting lovely ethereal images with a shallow depth of field
You will have an opportunity to practice what you have learned in the studio and outside during the golden hour with both instructors. This class will be held from 11 AM-6 PM to allow for the best outdoor light timing. Free snacks and finger foods will be available for all.
This is an intermediate class, so you will need a solid understanding of technical aspects of photography and your camera equipment.
Items to Bring: Student should bring their DSLR camera and a prime lens or two with at least a F4 aperture and notebook or iPad for notes. Handouts will be given to each student. A sack lunch/snacks
