As the rising tide pushes them onto the sand, you'll have incredible opportunities to photograph dense flocks of sandpipers, plovers, and turnstones at close range. We'll also search for newly arrived loons, grebes, and diving sea ducks as fall migration gets underway. Resident bald eagles are frequently seen soaring overhead or perched nearby, adding another iconic Pacific Northwest subject to your portfolio. Whether you're looking to improve your bird photography techniques or capture dynamic migration behavior, this workshop offers an unforgettable experience in one of Washington's premier coastal birding locations. High tide is around 10:30 AM in Semiahmoo Bay, which is exactly when shorebirds are compressed onto the beaches and spits, creating the best photography opportunities.Starting at 9:00 AM lets participants photograph birds as the tide rises and flocks become increasingly concentrated.The period from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM is likely to produce the highest densities of sandpipers, plovers, and turnstones close to shore.
