This one-day (Part 1 of 2) Underwater Photography workshop is a hands-on, immersive experience designed to help photographers confidently step into the world of underwater portraiture and begin offering it as a refined, profitable service.Throughout the day, students learn what makes underwater photography such a compelling genre, including its creative potential as well as its technical challenges such as lighting behavior, subject movement, and image distortion. Instruction also covers underwater safety, client communication, posing, pool sourcing, essential gear choices, and from camera systems and underwater housings to practical considerations like pool conditions, natural light, and selecting equipment that fits different budget levels. In addition, students learn how to position underwater sessions as a luxury add-on to portrait photography, with guidance on marketing, portfolio development, and client preparation. The experience concludes with a live underwater shoot where students will get to observe and actively participate in photographing models in a real pool environment for their portfolio. This portion of the class reinforces through direct application, helping students build confidence in posing, timing, composition, and working efficiently in water.Lunch Break will be offsite at a close local food establishment.
