Ever wonder what it takes to create those mouthwatering food photos you see online, in magazines, and in advertisements? Look no further than this hands-on class. We will cover the entire food photography process, from understanding color and styling food for maximum visual impact to creating the final images and composing them for their intended purpose, whether it's for a magazine, menu, or competition-ready submission. You'll also learn how to use lighting, composition, and styling to convey the right mood and tell your story, whether it's a bright and lively spring shoot or a dark and romantic dinner for two. This is a hands-on class where everyone will have the opportunity to design and photograph several different sets. We will also cover many of the do's—and especially the don'ts—of professional food photography. As a bonus, we'll explore photographing glassware, including bottles and drinking glasses, and demonstrate how to light them for the greatest visual impact. You'll discover that food photography is especially rewarding because it transforms the traditional still life into a compelling visual story. It's also an excellent way to expand your creativity, since you have complete control over every aspect of the session—from styling and lighting to composition and camera angle.
