Wedding days are full of surprises, unexpected lighting, and location conditions and challenges. Understanding basic flash, on-camera and off-camera lighting, is critical to providing professional service, experience, and portraits to your clients. Challenges can also push your creativity to use lighting to create drama and dynamic images where natural light does not present the opportunity for innovation. Attendees will learn the differences and how to utilize natural light, on-camera lighting and off-camera portable lighting. This includes knowing how to photograph in full manual flash. Modifiers of light used on a wedding day as well as typical equipment needed for flashes will be reviewed. Learning how to overcome poor or unsuitable lighting that is frequently encountered on a typical wedding or elopement day will be covered at the beginning of this class. In the later part of the class, attendees will learn how to create interest with this lighting in a stale setting as well as receptions with very dark lighting and DJ lights.
