While you may have questions about the formation, bookkeeping, and taxes of your business there are answers if you know where and how to find them. In this workshop, we will discuss the different formation structures available, what is required to maintain the structures and their benefits. We will also dive into checking and credit card accounts, sales, state, federal, and franchise taxes. Another topic we will address is bookkeeping and accounting software; what is income; what are assets/liabilities and what are expenses. We will delve into who may be considered an employee or an independent contractor and the difference between the different payroll forms and Form 1099. We will also touch on a couple of ways to determine day rates. Attendees will receive handouts and Excel worksheets.
