In this workshop, you will learn the basics of being around equines and their owners. You will discuss what to look for in a "proper" equine photo, and interactions between the rider, equine and their other 4 legged companions. You will be photographing around a farm environment and weather permitting work outside and inside with "studio" type lighting and in a field where moving and possibly faster than a slow jog(weather and footing dependent). There will be some stock type western and gaited"saddleseat" type in western tack. You will also have a mule or two and their uniqueness.
Items to bring: Camera, Flash of choice, note taking materials, We'll be outside most of the time so sun screen and comfortable shoes that offer good foot protection as their may be some walking involved and horses really don't look where they place their feet.
A tripod for landscape photography may be of use as we'll be close to the Grandview National River Park and the New River Horseshoe Bend overlooks. The New River Gorge bridge is a short drive away and the WV Babcock State Park and it's well photographed Grist Mill less than an hour away as well
