Learn about Extended and High Dynamic Range in camera and in post-processing. Quite often one image exposure is not sufficient to capture all of the details in the highlights and in the shadows. Crating images using Extended and High Dynamic Range allows us to generate all of the shadow and highlight detail. We will be photographing at an interesting location with a variety of different subject matter, buildings, gardens, historic structures, steeples, pagoda, etc. in order to take photographs with extended and/or high dynamic range. We will explore ISO and exposures and examine the histogram. We will talk about and capture images using the ETTR (expose to the right) philosophy and edit those later in post-processing. Then we will go back and edit some of those images in post processing (using Adobe camera RAW [ACR] in Photoshop and/or the develop module in Lightroom). Bring your camera and a wide to mid-range lens and a tripod. For the post-processing, bring your laptop or just take notes and follow along by watching the screen.
