Computer Basics: Understanding Monitors

  • Instructors:
    Ron Nichols

You don’t have to work for Hewlett Packard or Dell to know that good computer equipment is essential to your career. But when it comes to monitors, the window through which you view all your work, how do you know what’s best?

In this course, PPA instructor, Ron Nichols, demystifies monitors, helping you understand what you need and why.

During Ron’s video presentation, you’ll learn:

    • The importance of your monitor – from color calibration to graphics capability and more, everything you do is done on and viewed through your monitor. Learn how to choose the best.
    • The technology behind the screen – learn about PVAs, TN+ and IPS, pixel response time and why it’s important. The more you know, the better buying decisions you’ll make.
    • Specifications – discuss size and resolution, viewing angles and input terminals. The devil is in the details, and you’ll want to examine them all before any purchase.

Best of all, Ron leaves you with his expert opinions and suggestions, so that even with all this knowledge, you still won’t be navigating this purchase alone.

We value your feedback and want to know how we can improve. Please share your thoughts about the class here.
