Photoshop Techniques: Creative Effects

Suzette Allen Cr.Photog., CPP, API

As an artist and a photographer, you’re probably pretty good with Photoshop. Well, to quote the 1970s band Bachman Turner Overdrive: “You ain’t seen nothing yet!”

In this video class, PPA instructor Suzette Allen will help you take your Photoshop techniques to a whole new level, enabling you to elevate your photography from pictures to art. For example, what do you know about:

  • Masking? It’s the base for so many creative ideas, and Suzette will show you how to handle it like a pro for more flexibility and control in design.
  • Blend modes? You’ll see how to use texture and overlays to create complex artistic expressions.
  • The “refine edge” or “blend if” tools? See how they can help change your images.
  • Piggybacking your Photoshop “tricks”? You’ll learn how to do it to create more awesome effects

Once you see how simple these effects can be to consistently produce—thanks to Suzette’s demos and expert instruction—you might even be encourage to offer new, creative products to your clients!
