Parker Pfister Cr.Photog.

Parker Pfister photographs a model wearing a dress composed entirely of paper in his studio. He uses an antique 8 x 10 camera to capture paper negatives that give the images a unique and textured quality. Parker talks about how not knowing exactly what's going to happen in his sessions and how being considerate of his shots with the paper negative camera, leads to spontaneous creativity that has to be honed during the moment. He constructs a dark and dramatic fantasy set up to make hauntingly beautiful photographs.

Parker Pfister Bio

While other kids dreamed of being firefighters and cowboys, Parker dreamed of being a National Geographic photographer. He started his journey into the art of photography at age six when his grandmother gave him his first camera. Eight years later Eastman Kodak honored him with a silver medallion for second place at the 1982 World's Fair.

He's had a camera in his hands ever since, photographing anything that interests or moves him. Last year he was named one of the "Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World" by American Photo. He was on the cover of NikonWorld magazine, was seen on the BBC's Style Network, and his work was featured on Keeping up with the Kardashians, Entertainment Tonight and The Food Network, but says his biggest reward of the year was playing with his son, Scout.
