Step 4: Renew My Certification
The CPP recertification process is there to encourage CPPs to continue their journey in photography education and professional development. By participating in continuing education, CPPs help to raise the bar of our industry.
How do I recertify?
Once you've achieved the CPP designation, you will need to accumulate and submit 15 continuing education units every three (3) years to maintain your certification status. CPPs eligible for recertification will receive three (3) email notices on the year they are due to recertify, an email six (6) months, one (1) month and on the month they are due to expire.
To view your Certification status and expiration:
- Log on to your MyPPA dashboard
- Navigate to the myAchievements tab
- Select "Certifications"
To recertify, you'll need to:
- Submit 15 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at the end of three (3) year certification cycle. You can submit your cumulative CEUs online by filling out the CPP Recertification Form OR if you can’t meet the education requirements you can retake the online CPP Exam.
- Pay a $100 recertification fee OR get your $100 recertification fee waived. You can do this by either attending Imaging USA for the past three consecutive years.
What if I can't meet the Education Requirements?
Unfortunately, if you are unable to fulfill one of the recertification requirements (15 CEUs or pass the CPP Exam) within your recertification period, your certification will be discontinued. To apply for an extension or request additional information or assistance please email [email protected].
