IPC Critique

The International Photographic Competition is designed to put your techniques to the test against your biggest opponent—yourself. When you enter the competition, you are opening up space for your photographic career to grow and improve. Submit a photo and  experience the opportunity to learn new creative insights that will help widen your perspective and improve the quality of your work.

Entering (and hopefully meriting) at IPC will show your clients that you’re serious about your craft. This can lead to an increase in personal and professional confidence as well as credibility within the photography industry.  As a photographer, you need to find new ways to help your work stand out, and this is a unique opportunity to do so.

After you enter the competition, you’ll be given an official judge critique based on the 12 Elements of a Merit Image which consist of criteria like impact, composition, and storytelling (you can learn more about them in this article). This will tell you exactly what you need to improve on. Check out the live critique below to get a better idea of the feedback you can receive during your IPC critique.

Remember: Registration opens for IPC on August 24. Be sure to mark your calendar, set a reminder, and make 2020 the year you challenge the way you approach photography!

If you’re looking for other ways to expand your industry knowledge, dive into PPA’s online education platform! Our education library will be accessible with a free PPA account through the end of May 2020.
