New Changes to the Elite and Elite Plus PPA Memberships
Board-approved changes are here in 2019 for photographers who have earned one of PPA’s most prestigious membership statuses, Elite.
Previously, the Elite and Elite Plus membership ran from January 1st through December 31st, and each member needed to have the requirements met by December 31st to qualify for the following year. Since Imaging USA takes places in January, many members were unable to take advantage of the benefits of the Elite and Elite Plus membership such as free pre-con and convention registration.
In an effort to give Elite members more time to register and plan for Imaging USA, Elite and Elite Plus statuses will now run from October 1st through September 30th. This means you must have all requirements met by September 30th. You still have a full 12 months to obtain the status, but the dates have changed. This gives us more time to notify you and allows you to have plenty of time to register for Imaging USA.
Elite memberships are good until September 30th this year at which time PPA will evaluate if requirements have been met to maintain this status for the 2019 – 2020 year.
Here’s a rundown of the new changes:
- Member must have all requirements completed by September 30th of the prior year to qualify for Elite or Elite Plus status.
- Status will be awarded on an annual basis, October 1st through September 30th.
- The only way to lose your status during the year is if your membership becomes inactive. If you rejoin, your status will be reactivated as well.
Requirements for Elite:
- Certified Professional Photographer
- Master of Photography or Master Artist
- Four for four on images from a single case from current year’s IPC (bronze, silver, gold, platinum, or diamond)
- Two non-photographic merits earned during the current year
Requirements for Elite Plus:
- Certified Professional Photographer
- Master of Photography or Master Artist
- Master Craftsman
- Four for four on images from a single case from previous year’s IPC (bronze, silver, gold, platinum, or diamond)
- Two or more loan collection images from the same case from current year’s IPC (gold, platinum or diamond)
- Two non-photographic merits earned during the current year

- Elite PPA Membership Card
- Elite PPA Membership Certificate
- Free registration to Imaging USA’s pre-convention programming – current year (or following year if unable to attend current year)
- No CPP renewal fee
- Elite Member ribbon at Imaging USA
- Special lanyard at Imaging USA
Elite Plus:
- Elite Plus PPA Membership Card
- Elite Plus PPA Membership Certificate
- Free registration to Imaging USA’s pre-convention programming – current year (or following year if unable to attend current year).
- NO renewal fee for your CPP!
- Elite Plus Member ribbon at Imaging USA
- A special Elite Plus lanyard for your badge at Imaging USA
- FREE registration to Imaging USA!
