Q & A with Cris and Deanna Duncan, M.Photog.Cr., CPP

Why do you love photography?

Photographers have the opportunity to change the narrative. That is what I love about it.

What did you want to be as a kid when you grew up?

An architect at first, but I had a darkroom at 13 and I was set. I subscribed to the Seattle Filmworks Society and was so excited when I got a new cassette tape and lessons each month.

Who has been one of the biggest influences of your work?

Cinema is a big influence on my work - Spielberg and Lucas especially. The way they can craft a narrative with light and camera perspective is awe-inspiring.

In the magical world of Harry Potter, if the Sorting Hat placed you into a house at Hogwarts, which would it be?

Ravenclaw
