The day has finally come for the establishment of a small claims system! The US Copyright Office (USCO) has announced that the Copyright Claims Board (CCB) will go live and begin to accept claims on June 16, 2022. This means that you will be able to register for eCCB, the electronic filing and case management system for the CCB. This system will enable you to submit and respond to claims under the CCB and access the CCB Handbook materials for guidance on how to navigate the CCB. An FAQ for the CCB has been released by the Copyright Office to help explain the system in general terms but the CCB Handbook, which contains more detailed information, has yet to be released as of this time; it is expected to be released on June 16.
We will release more information in the future about how to access the CCB, how to track a claim from start to finish, and other pertinent information once it is known.
