In May, PPA opened its educational resources to the public at no charge. This move to help professional artists across disciplines was met with high praise, as President Gregory Daniel noted. “I’ve had so much feedback from other business owners. That resonated so well because it’s outside the scope [of just photography]. It was bigger. It wasn’t about us; it was about everyone in the business."
PPA’s historic #InItTogether relief package, which will give up to $3 million in assistance to the non-profit’s members, was also discussed. Director Allison English Watkins powerfully described the impact of PPA’s efforts:
It made me feel seen in a world where I felt nonessential. I appreciate PPA and the community reminding me that I’m not disposable—that I matter.

It’s been hard to be alone and it’s been scary from a business standpoint. It’s been so nice to connect with everyone. I have PPA to thank for that.
