Advice for Hiker/Photographers: What to Pack

Are you a traveling photographer? Do you want to be? This great post by Spencer Cox, “Going Lightweight for Photography Expeditions” offers up advice on how to lighten your load when you’re going on a long photographic hike. What do you really need to take besides one camera, two lenses, and a tripod?

Spencer recommends carrying lightweight camera equipment and being very particular about what you choose to bring. Minimalism is key! And always bring someone else with you (it lightens the weight, after all).

If you’re going on a camping trip NOT to camp, but to take amazing photos, you’ll want to read Spencer’s take on what to pack. And if you’re already a photographer/hiker, offer up your opinion in the comments!
