Vital Signs: How to handle vendors with cameras

Dear PPA Member,

What did you learn in kindergarten? Sure, you probably learned how to color inside the lines and walk in a single file line to the lunchroom, but your teacher was also helping you learn how to work well with others. You had to learn how to share and take your turn--lessons that you will use the rest of your life. But just like there was always that kid who didn't want to share the building blocks, odds are there will be someone similar you have to work with as a grown-up.

Dealing with other vendors is a common situation for photographers, especially those who photograph weddings or events. But what happens if one of those other vendors shows up with a camera to photograph the same wedding you were hired to photograph? This week's Vital Signs reviews how to handle this type of situation while maintaining a positive relationship with your clients (because working well with others is just as important now as it was in kindergarten!).
