Dear PPA Member,
How did you get your start in professional photography? I don't know anyone who woke up one morning, picked up a camera, and was an instant success. It takes hard work, a few mistakes, and a learning curve--all of which happen over time.
Where did you go to learn the technical aspects of your craft? What about the non-artistic (but essential) business side of photography? We hope that you received some of that through PPA and our educational offerings. And often, learning comes by doing--under the expertise of someone who has more experience and knowledge.
As you grow in your business, you have the opportunity to pass on your knowledge to the next generation of photographers while gaining a valuable assistant. But how?
The Vital Signs this week offers tips to help you get individuals into your studio who are already on the path to professional photography. By hiring one who already has some technical knowledge, you'll be ahead of the game.
Cheers,
Christel Aprigliano
